Numark managing director, John D'Arcy, has revealed that the company plan to launch a professional indemnity policy for pharmacists. D’Arcy told an audience of Numark members, drug company representatives and other delegates during its conference in Delhi that the new service would be available to its members from May this year.
“Obviously PI is an essential part of working as a pharmacist and, as a membership organisation of more than 2,600, it is appropriate that we provide this service to our members,” D'Arcy said. “When we researched the demand for a product, more than three quarters of Numark franchise partners said that if we offered PI where the commercial benefit was favourable, they would be interested."
The features of Numark's new policy include an aggregate annual limit of £10million of cover and one free top-up of cover if the above limit is exhausted. Legal costs in defending a claim are also covered. Full details of the pricing of the Numark PI will be announced to members in April.
