Bestway Medhub has donated £2,282 to ‘Pharmacist Support’ to raise awareness among customers about the sector’s leading wellbeing charity.
Pharmacist Support is an independent charity that provides a variety of support services to pharmacists, their families, former pharmacists and pharmacy students.
To mark its sixth anniversary this month, the wholesaler decided to support the charity through its Field and Telesales team.
Paul Insley, head of Bestway Medhub & Wardles said, “I have been inspired to see the hard work, resilience and passion from the pharmacy sector and that is why we chose to mark our 6th business anniversary milestone by raising awareness and funds for the profession’s leading wellbeing charity.”
“I am delighted that we’ve raised £2,282 for Pharmacist Support, which will go directly towards building wellbeing workshops as well as counselling and peer support for those that need it,” Insley said.
Pharmacy Support is funded entirely by pharmacists, their families and pharmacy organisations.
The charity group is run by a board of nine trustees, a team of twelve members of staff and supported by over 70 volunteers.
“As a charity we rely on organisations and individuals across the sector to help raise awareness and funds so we can provide vital services to members of our pharmacy family who have been particularly affected these past 18 months (of pandemic),” Danielle Hunt, chief executive of Pharmacist Support, said.
The charity group has recently started counselling service to enhance mental health and wellbeing support for the profession.
“…this donation from Bestway Medhub will enable us to reach and support even more pharmacists, trainees and students as we begin to unpick the true impact of the pandemic on our pharmacy family,” Hunt said.
Launched in 2015, Bestway Medhub supports over 3,000 independent pharmacies and dispensing doctors across the UK.
