Boots UK has started piloting a new video service that offers patients in-store access to GP consultations.
The LIVI video GP service is said to be providing patients with trusted medical advice, diagnostics, referrals and prescriptions. According to Boots all the GPs in the service are registered with General Medical Council, UK-qualified and trained to use the technology efficiently.
The service has been initially piloting an NHS service in Woking, Surrey and a private service has been slated to launch on 19 September at a Boots store in London.
Boots expects the service to benefit many customers, who do not have a smartphone to use the convenience of technology. The pharmacy-chain said it was part of the company’s larger plans to create, what it called, ‘a market-leading omni-channel pharmacy experience’.
