The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) has said it will consult this month on proposals to increase some of its fees for 2019-20.
Pharmacy’s regulator wants to raise entry and yearly renewal fees for pharmacists by £7 from £250 to £257, pharmacy technicians by £3 from £118 to £121 and pharmacy premises by £21 from £241 to £262. It would be the first increase in fees for three years.
The GPhC said: “The proposed fees for pharmacy professionals are still lower than the fees charged in 2011. For the first time, the proposals would make the fee for registered pharmacies higher than the fee for pharmacists.”
