A community pharmacy in Birmingham has been sold to a first-time buyer after the owner decided to retire.

Shareef Pharmacy in Yardley was sold to Zahida Parveen, an experienced pharmacist who has worked for Lloyds Pharmacy, in hospital pharmacy and as a community locum. She had been looking to buy her first pharmacy for a couple of years.

“We are really pleased with the completion of this sale after overcoming a few obstacles during the legal stage. The sale further demonstrates the desire for first time buyers to take the leap of faith required in this competitive market,” said Jassi Sunner, senior business agent at Christie & Co who brokered the sale.

“Having been a disappointed bidder previously, we are really pleased Zahida has managed to acquire her first pharmacy.”
