Lloydspharmacy has bolstered its operations with the appointment of Paul Johnson as head of online a role that will see him cover web and mobile content and other online forms of communication.
The move is a shrewd one as far as the community pharmacy chain is concerned since Johnson brings with him 12 years’ experience in online business having been at Europe’s largest online pet supply retailer Zooplus where he was UK managing director. His CV also includes an influential online position at Destination Skin a premium beauty brand that is now affiliated exclusively with House of Frasier.
“Lloydspharmacy already has a strong brand as community healthcare experts this combined with customers’ desire to get convenient yet trustworthy services online gives us a real opportunity to try the newest online tactics” said Johnson who will lead a team of online experts at Lloydspharmacy in an attempt to develop and enhance the company’s online offering to its customers.
Johnson’s pedigree is not in doubt. He began his online career with his first business at 15 and his first online consultancy at 19 and is as passionate now about the online business as he has ever been.
“Our online customer has a typically different profile to our store customer” he said. “By expanding our online offer to include advice and as many special services as possible we can make a real difference to our customers even when our pharmacies are closed for the night.”
