The number of community pharmacy contractors validated as meeting the Quality Payment Scheme’s five gateway criteria is 10,292, the latest NHS Business Service Authority (NHSBSA) weekly gateway report reveals.
Contractors who have been validated will have received an email confirmation and those who have not yet been validated still have an opportunity.
“These contractors will have received an email from the NHSBSA team after they made their declaration which would have detailed the gateway criteria which the NHSBSA could not validate them as meeting. Contractors would have been encouraged in this email to take corrective action to meet these gateway criteria so the NHSBSA team could then validate them. Contractors will not receive a Quality Payment unless they are validated,” PSNC said in a statement.
The five gateway criteria include offering patients the opportunity to access at least one Advanced Service at their pharmacy, an up-to-date NHS website profile, the result of the latest Community Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire publicly available on the NHS website profile, a live premises NHSmail account with two live linked personal accounts, and pharmacy operating systems and browsers which are compliant with NHS Digital’s Warranted Environment Specification (WES).
The confirmation emails are considered as proof of successful declaration and validation, and pharmacists are directed to retain them in case of any payment queries. The validated contractors will get a Quality Payment as per declared the quality criteria.
Those who are unsure about what action they need to take to be validated are requested to contact the NHSBSA Provider Assurance Team. If a contractor is not validated by 29th March 2019, they will not be eligible for a Quality Payment.
