A talented young pharmacist beat off stiff competition to win the LloydsPharmacy Pre-registration Trainee of the Year award.

Monil Patel who works at LloydsPharmacy in Christchurch Medical Centre, Northampton, secured the accolade after impressing judges.

The LloydsPharmacy pre-registration programme is a 52-week course for 150 graduate trainees.

“I am extremely honoured to be receiving such an important award and I am grateful for the recognition of my work. It would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my tutor and colleagues from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself to perform better at each stage of my training,” Patel said.

His area manager, Kulvir Grewa, said: “Monil has had a fantastic year where he has impressed with both his clinical knowledge and business acumen.

“He is team player who always leads by example and we look forward to working with him as a qualified pharmacist; a well-deserved award.”
