The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has started publishing weekly dataset reports, helping community pharmacists to check if they meet three out of the four gateway criteria of the Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS).
The reports will be published every Friday from today to March 2, 2020, with a two-week gap between December 27, 2019 and January 3, 2020.
Reports will use information from national datasets to assess whether pharmacists have met the three gateway criteria – advanced service, NHSmail and NHS website.
The report will also act as a double-check, allowing pharmacists to go back to their NHS website profile and update as necessary to meet the criterion.
The Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) advised all pharmacists to check the report in early 2020, in the weeks leading up to the PQS declaration period, to ensure that they are meeting the criteria.
“Contractors should be aware that even if a contractor is currently meeting the NHSmail gateway criterion, their status on this may change, ahead of the PQS declaration period”, PSNC warned.
