The Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) today launched an animation video explaining the role of community pharmacies and how it is likely to fit into the NHS of the future.
The video is based on the ambitions for community pharmacy that have been set out by NHS England and the Government.
“It is clear that NHS England wants to make better use of the clinical skills of community pharmacists to help to deliver the NHS Long Term Plan,” said PSNC Chief Executive Simon Dukes.
He pointed to the challenges lie ahead of community pharmacy the need to find new ways of working.
“Our aim with this animation is to highlight the changes that lie ahead for community pharmacies. We hope the video will help community pharmacy owners to understand what the future is likely to hold, but also show them how they can give themselves the best chances of early success in the evolving NHS landscape,” Dukes said.
PSNC will use this animation in conversations with national stakeholders. LPCs and pharmacy team are encouraged to share the video with local commissioners, politicians, charities and patient groups.
