To tackle a surge in Covid-19 cases, Scotland is ‘to bring in two-week circuit breaker coronavirus lockdown at 7pm on Friday’, The Sun newspaper reported today (Oct. 6).

The newspaper quoted an NHS source as saying: “We’ve been told to expect it from 7pm on Friday.” Other NHS sources said doctors in Glasgow had been told to expect the same stay-at-home order, amid speculations first minister Nicola Sturgeon could announce a mini-lockdown for the whole of Scotland which would start on Friday.

The timing of the ‘circuit breaker lockdown’ coincides with half-term holiday which begins in most schools in Scotland this Friday.
