Two pharmacists have defied the funding gloom enveloping community pharmacy by going into business together and buying their first pharmacy.

Silas Agyemang and Frank Dwomah purchased Health Point Pharmacy in Southbourne, Bournemouth having been convinced of the potential to grow dispensary services with local surgeries and care homes.

The leasehold community pharmacy operates a standard 40-hour contract and is situated on a high street with GP surgeries nearby.

Jonathan Board, a director at Christie & Co who brokered the sale, said: “There was a good deal of interest shown in this pharmacy from a range of buyers. Demand for businesses like this on the south coast is always high and Silas and Frank were quick to see the opportunity to own and manage this business and by purchasing together, enable them to retain some of their outside interests.”
