Well Pharmacy has announced the launch of eight new vaccination sites this month including a mass vaccination centre in Stockport.

With the launch of its latest vaccination site, the pharmacy chain now has a total of 20 live Covid-19 vaccination centres across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The company also plans to open more Covid-19 vaccination sites in the coming weeks.

Commenting on the immunisation programme, Ifti Khan, deputy pharmacy superintendent at Well Pharmacy, said: “Community Pharmacy continues to play a pivotal role in the fight against Covid – with more than 500 community pharmacies delivering over 5 million vaccines so far.

“More than 65million doses of a range of Covid vaccines have now been administered in the UK, which has been a monumental effort across the healthcare sector and one we are proud to have played our part in.

“A heartfelt thank you to our pharmacists, pharmacy teams and support from local volunteers to get these sites launched and working as safely, efficiently and effectively as possible.

“I’m sure the local communities will welcome being able to get their vaccine from a familiar face in such a convenient location. Getting vaccinated will help protect people around you, but it is important we do not become complacent. We must all continue to wash our hands, cover our faces and make space to help protect friends, colleagues and family from the virus.”

The Covid-19 vaccinations will be carried out by a Well Pharmacist in a private consultation room. Those invited for their first dose at Well, will return for their second, the pharmacy chain has announced.
