Community pharmacy owners are encouraged to share their views on the issues that matter most to them

Community Pharmacy England (CPE) is hosting a national engagement event for pharmacy owners on 7 May (Tuesday) as part of its ongoing efforts to engage with everyone in the sector more meaningfully.

Registration for this event is open now and will close at 3 pm on the day of the event.

The event will provide pharmacy owners the opportunity to get updates on a range of issues impacting pharmacies, and learn more about CPE’s work and progress in critical areas.

Pharmacy owners are encouraged to share their views on the issues that matter most to them via questions, online polls and ideas.

“The pressures facing all pharmacy businesses are extreme, and the event will be a chance to hear about the work Community Pharmacy England is doing to find solutions, and to ask questions of Committee Members and the Chief Executive,” reads a statement from CPE.

James Wood, director of member and LPC support at CPE, said: “The pressures on pharmacy businesses and all those who work in them are intolerable: we have made this absolutely clear to the government and the NHS, and everyone at Community Pharmacy England is fully focused on improving the outlook for pharmacies.

“All our work is guided by the pharmacy owners on the Community Pharmacy England Committee, but the more voices we can hear from across the sector on an ongoing basis, the better, and I hope that many of you will be able to join us at this event. “

However, the committee clarified that the event is not intended to announce the outcomes of the 2024/25 CPCF negotiations. Any announcements regarding these negotiations will be made separately once they have been concluded, it said.

Furthermore, it noted that the engagement event is only for community pharmacy owners or their representatives, pharmacy team members, and LPC teams to ensure that “we can have frank and open discussions with pharmacy owners.”

The event, which will be held digitally from 7pm to 8.30 pm, will see members from Community Pharmacy England’s Committee and policy team in attendance.
