A new video featuring pharmacy teams across the UK is gaining attention on social media.

The video, created by the National Pharmacy Association, celebrates the dedication and life-saving role of pharmacists during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on the hit song Rise Up, the video opens with a message from Health Secretary Matt Hancock, thanking the pharmacists.

“I know these have been difficult times. For the way you’ve risen to the challenge, and that you’re there for people, a great big thank you,” he said.

Raj Aggarwal, NPA board member and one of the pharmacists appearing in the film, said:

“The video tells the story, in song form, of pharmacy teams rising to the challenge of coronavirus, keeping people well and saving lives – even whilst under the most intense pressure.

“The NPA wants to thank all those who took part in the filming of this powerful piece, which celebrates the spirit and determination of our people on the health service frontline.”

The NPA urged all to share the video on social media using #pharmacyheroes to show appreciation for the community pharmacy.
