McKesson UK said its wholesale arm AAH has been working closely with NHS England since December to distribute Covid-19 vaccines to pharmacies, doctors’ surgeries, hospitals and vaccination centres.

AAH delivery drivers have been covering an average of 14,000 miles to deliver 800,000 to 1.5 million vaccines in England per week, the company said in a statement.

“I’m proud that our colleagues have played a key role in supporting the country in its time of need. Each one of our delivery drivers, warehouse operatives, and specialist logistics colleagues have gone above and beyond to help protect our communities and support with this monumental task,” Toby Anderson, CEO of McKesson UK, said.

“Between the NHS and its partners, this has been a fantastic team effort, involving hard work, determination and sheer grit,” he said.

So far, AAH has successfully distributed 24 million vaccines and 68 million ancillary items to over 3219 healthcare providers.

“…we will continue to use our expertise and capability in storing, transporting, and distributing medicines to support the UK’s efforts to vaccinate everyone in the UK in the coming months,” Anderson said.
