Dr Reddy’s recalls Nitrofurantoin 50mg tablets

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (UK) Limited has recalled all unexpired stocks of Nitrofurantoin 50mg tablets from pharmacies and wholesalers.

The decision to recall the drug has taken as a precautionary measure due to out of specification results for dissolution during routine stability testing.

The community pharmacists have been asked to stop supplying the batch immediately and to quarantine all remaining stock. They could return the stocks to the supplier using supplier’s approved process.
