Phoenix UK boss Steve Anderson has been appointed to the executive board of the Phoenix in Europe with effect from September 1.

Anderson will continue as managing director of the UK division along with the new responsibility, the healthcare group said on Friday (July 24).

Commenting on the appointment, Anderson said the UK division’s experience and learning will be useful for the group’s European subsidiaries to achieve their growth ambitions.

“Over the last two years, Phoenix in the UK has implemented successfully a strategy to grow profitably,” he said.

“Our performance has outstripped the market and main competitors in volume and value; we have won more contracts with manufacturers; we have introduced sector-leading innovations such as MediPAC and NuPAC; we have reorganised our management structures to become a more agile and responsive business; we have begun a journey to transform the performance and profitability of our retail network; we have delivered outstanding operational efficiencies in our distribution business.

“We have ambitious plans for the years ahead to build on that success.”
