Allied Pharmacies has assured the government that they would soon restore all the services at the 129 Jhoots pharmacy outlets they recently took over.

The senior management of Allied Pharmacies, led by CEO Suhaib Abdullah and finance director Suhail Sharief, visited Westminster this week and held meetings with MPs cutting across party lines.

They also met members of the All-Party Pharmacy Group and some MPs whose constituencies have been impacted by Jhoots pharmacy closures.

During the discussions, Allied Pharmacies stressed they will soon reopen closed Jhoots branches and improve services for the communities they cater to.

Allied now operates approximately 300 pharmacies across the country.

Abdullah expressed satisfaction with the meetings he held at Westminster and said, “It was particularly striking that there was virtually no division on party lines. The MPs we spoke to all recognised the huge importance of an effective, efficient and accessible pharmacy sector in terms of social care and health provision in this country, and they do recognise the financial and operational challenges which we face."

"But it was hugely encouraging to find such a level of friendly and supportive concern from every MP we met,” he added.
