The Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) has created a strategy report for Pharmacy Professional Leadership.
In a LinkedIn post, APTUK hopes the report will support the co-creation of a professional leadership model that is inclusive, accessible to all, and offers parity amongst the professions.
Liz Fidler and Olivia Musson from the NHSE CPhO Pharmacy Technician Forum also helped in compiling the report.
It aims to strengthen the professional identity and leadership of pharmacy technicians.
Ensure equitable representation in decision-making and policy development.
Support the development of a UK-wide post-registration education and career framework.
Promote collaboration between regulators, professional leadership bodies (PLBs), and employers.
APTUK said it is committed towards working with the UK Pharmacy Professional Leadership Advisory Board (UKPPLAB) team to ensure a positive future for professional leadership.
The strategy report was presented at the UKPPLAB board meeting on September 8.
APTUK also thanked all pharmacy technicians for attending the recent webinars (July and August 2025) and participating in the survey.
The association plans to hold more webinars in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, to reach out to its members residing in these places.
