Community Pharmacy England is planning to discuss the future of the sector with pharmacy owners and LPCs through the regional Future of Pharmacy workshops, prior to the start of negotiations on the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) for 2026/27.
The free-of-cost workshop will occur throughout the month of July in each NHS region for easy access. The invitation has been sent to all the pharmacy owners and their representatives.
The key focus of the workshops will be Community Pharmacy England’s priorities for 2026/27 contract negotiations.
The workshops will be held in the evenings from 8 pm to 9 pm, after the team has held discussions with LPC chairs and chief officers in each region. The doors will be open from 7 pm with a hot buffet and light refreshments, promoting engagement with Community Pharmacy England team.
The events are planned soon after the NHS 10-year Health Plan and Government Spending Review’s conclusion.
Among the topics that will be discussed, include the impact of the CPCF settlement for 2025/26; challenges community pharmacies continue to face; pharmacy’s place in the NHS 10-Year Health Plan; preparations for 2026/27 negotiations; and how best to support community pharmacies to plan for the future.
The workshops will include a talk by chief executive Janet Morrison and her team on the effects of the CPCF settlement for 2025/26, the persisting challenges pharmacists face, future approaches they want the policymakers to take and much more.
Regional representatives of CPE will be present at the local workshops as well as both members of the CPE committee and representatives of independent pharmacy owners in their regions.
The events will take place at nine regions beginning from Yorkshire and the Humber on July 1 and end in London on July 24.
