PPE Guidance for community pharmacy has not changed in Scotland, the Community Scotland Pharmacy (CSP) updates.

CSP tweeted that from Monday (August 9) the community pharmacies need to continue with the wearing of IIR Masks all the time and changing it regularly in line with guidance, following the donning and doffing processes.

According to the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Guidance for primary care, they have to use gloves and aprons supplied centrally via the PECOS System should when in direct contact with blood and body fluids (BBF) is anticipated, and should not be routinely worn for any other tasks.

The wearing of face coverings – subject to existing exemptions – remains a legal requirement for patients and customers in community pharmacies. Two metre physical distancing remains in place in healthcare settings.
