Former health secretary Jeremy Hunt will be among many “prominent parliamentarians” taking part at a pharmacy webinar to be hosted by Sigma Pharmaceuticals on July 20.
Moderated by former pharmacy minister Steve Brine, the hour-long discussion will also feature Jackie Doyle-Price, chair of the All-Party Pharmacy Group; Alex Norris, shadow health minister; Dean Russell, Watford MP and member of health and care select committee.
The webinar, which will examine the new health and care bill from a parliamentary perspective, is seen as a good occasion to hear from Hunt, who as the current chair of the parliamentary health and care select committee, has often described pharmacy as a “massively untapped resource”.
“We are delighted to inform you that we have been able to secure a webinar with participation from many prominent parliamentarians, said Sigma’s co-founder Dr Bharat Shah CBE.
“Sigma is really pleased to bring these important discussions to community pharmacists. We are very grateful to our guests for sharing their time with us.”
This will be the fourth in a series of webinars hosted by Sigma this year titled ‘Taking Pharmacy Forward’.
The webinars are free for all community pharmacists and healthcare professionals provided they registered online at the company’s website.
Sigma Pharmaceuticals is one of the UK’s largest independent short-line pharmacy wholesalers and has been in operation since 1982.
