Community Pharmacy England (CPE) is inviting MPs from all political parties to attend the Future of Primary Care Parliamentary Drop-In Event on 27 January.

During this parliamentary event, the MPs will be briefed about the biggest challenges faced by the community pharmacy sector and wider primary care, which provides essential healthcare to millions of patients every day, and explore how they can be made sustainable.

The event, hosted by Helen Morgan MP, brings together key primary care organisations, including CPE, British Dental Association, British Medical Association, Optometric Fees Negotiating Committee and Association for Primary Care Audiology Providers.

Pharmacies are under unprecedented financial and operational pressure, as highlighted in the CPE's recent polling and post-Budget analysis.

With CPCF negotiations around the corner, it is crucial to raise awareness among as many MPs as possible about the urgent need for investment and reform to protect patient access and prevent further service deterioration.

The CPE wants pharmacy teams to promote the event on social media.

They should also invite their local MPs to the drop-in event and share their experiences with the parliamentarians using CPE's Autumn Budget 2025 briefing.

CPE said briefing notes will be available at the event, and representatives from all hosting organisations will be on hand to answer questions.

There will be photo opportunities and suggested promotional content for MPs, it added.
