The Royal Pharmaceutical Society and APTUK have released a joint statement announcing that pharmacy technicians will now be able to become “a type of associate member” of the RPS.

The announcement by both the organisations has been made to help pharmacy technicians access RPS products and services with their Association of Pharmacy Technician UK (APTUK) membership.

The RPS in a statement said: “Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians improve care for patients and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines. Each profession is best served by having individual and distinct professional representation. This decision of both of the organisations is mutually beneficial and complement each other in some areas.”
