The Heath Education England (HEE) has announced that it is now accepting applications to join the Interim Foundation Pharmacist Programme (IFPP).

This new education programme has been established to support the 2019/20 cohort of pre-registration pharmacists whose training and registration have been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting in September, the IFPP is a fully funded 12-month programme that aims to give provisionally registered pharmacists the foundation training support they need.

The Centre for Postgraduate Pharmacy Education (CPPE) will deliver the IFPP for provisionally registered pharmacists who work in community pharmacy.

CPPE is currently recruiting pharmacy professionals to work as education supervisors to support delivery of the IFPP. The education supervisor will review a candidate’s progress in practice and provide them with feedback and support in delivering community pharmacy services.

Those who join the IFPP will receive funded access to a new e-portfolio for foundation pharmacists developed by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) for the 12-month duration of the programme.

Access to the e-portfolio also extends to pre-registration pharmacists who have completed their training but have not joined the provisional register.
