The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has put together a package of information to help pharmacists who are getting asked by patients about the Wuhan coronavirus.

All clinical staff, encountering patients with respiratory infections and those who have returned from abroad, are advised to obtain the accurate travel history of the patients and isolate them immediately to identify potential cases and seek specialist advice.
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.
Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing and thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. If possible it’s wise to avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.
As of today, a total of 97 tests have concluded in the UK and all were confirmed negative.
