Petter Pharmacy, located in the North London suburb of Crouch End, has been sold out of administration for an undisclosed price.

The well-known community pharmacy went into administration in 2023.

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co announced that Petter Pharmacy was recently purchased by a "local, expanding operator".

Mark Page, Director – Pharmacy at Christie & Co, said, “We received multiple offers from local and national operators as well as first-time buyers. We wish the new owner all the very best for this pharmacy.”

This was a rare opportunity to acquire a volume pharmacy in the fashionable Crouch End suburb in North London, he added.

A recent study by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) and Community Pharmacy England (CPE) found that up to 63 percent of pharmacies could close in the next year without further support.

Pharmacy leaders have warned that pharmacies in England are still "teetering on the brink" despite an uplift in their funding announced earlier this year.

About 90 percent of an average pharmacy's funding is provided by the NHS, which is supposed to cover the cost of core services such as dispensing prescription medication and running vaccination campaigns, but this has historically been cut.
