The feet allow you to get around, give you balance and support body weight when you walk or run. Keeping feet well cared for is not just a matter of vanity. Some simple daily care can prevent diseases caused by fungi and bacteria and pain in the soles.

To ensure smooth and healthy feet, some care is essential to maintain a good appearance and comfort. Do you want to know more about it?  Continue reading and discover four efficient tips to keep your feet well cared for.

Skin Hydration

Right after a bath, moisturize your feet, as the skin will be clean and the pores will enlarge, which facilitates the absorption of the cream. It’s essential to perform this process before sleep because with your feet at rest, there is a better use of moisturizing compounds.

When choosing a foot cream, choose those with glycerin or shea butter in the formula, as they are effective emollients. If your goal is to renew the cells and maintain a healthy sole, products with salicylic or glycolic acid are good indications. Apply a small amount to your hands and spread it over the entire skin of the foot until the product is absorbed.

If possible, put your feet up after hydration, supporting them, for example, on a cushion. This improves blood circulation and reduces swelling and tiredness.

If you want to enhance the effect of the cream, wrap your feet in film paper and then wear socks to protect the area. Thus, you guarantee an even more intense and compelling effect.

Watch Your Nails

It is recommended that nails go to the manicure every 15 days to cut and sand them. But remember to avoid removing the corners so as not to get stuck or infected. Also, try to leave them without enamels or base for a few days so they can breathe.

Another critical point is the cuticle. It protects the nails and is responsible for preventing the entry of microorganisms, such as fungi and bacteria. For that reason, avoid taking it out as well, the best thing is to push it with a spatula.

In addition to cutting and cleaning, foot care should include moisturizing nails and cuticles. This process can be performed with natural vegetable oils or specific products such as moisturizing or cuticle strengthening samples.

Weekly Exfoliation

It is essential to exfoliate your feet to remove dead cells at least once a week and leave your skin smooth and healthy. For this, you can use sugared almond oil or other products found in specific homes for foot care, pharmacies, and perfumeries.

Avoid sanding this part of the body a lot, as the frequency can cause cracks, which will be the gateway for fungi and bacteria. Therefore, try to limit the practice to a maximum of twice a month. The exfoliation should be light to prevent the skin from becoming too thin which can also cause injuries, such as blisters.

To do it, just let your feet soak for a few minutes, and apply the product on the skin by gently rubbing it with your hands, then rinsing and moisturizing. You can also exfoliate while bathing, as the heat facilitates the process.

Foot Hygiene

When bathing, wash your feet thoroughly with soap to eliminate bacteria. You can use a natural loofah to facilitate the removal of residues and dead skin. If possible choose a moisturizing soap to avoid drying out the skin.

Don’t forget to dry the entire foot properly, but pay special attention to the gap between the toes. This is because the humidity in this place can cause chilblains, an injury that facilitates the contagion of diseases. Also, moisture and heat help the proliferation of bacteria and fungi.

To avoid the dreaded foot odor, the tip is to use talc or deodorant for the feet. Considered great allies in combating bad smell, the products are efficient to keep the region fresh and controlled sweat production.

As you can see, maintaining daily care is essential for those who want to have well-treated feet, regardless of their age or sex. After all, they play an essential role in your health, well-being, and quality of life. Therefore, they need attention so that you can walk safely and confidently.

Please ensure you make frequent visits to a healthcare professional to check your feet for sensation and pulses at least yearly.
