The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has written to Pharmacy Minister Jo Churchill, seeking reassurances and clarifications to protect pharmacy teams and their patients.

As the health service looks at ways to to adapt in the future in light of COVID-19, the letter, dated June 2, calls for assurances that “community pharmacy would be able to access the new PPE portal.”

It seeks urgent clarification on the Government’s flagship ‘Test and Trace’ programme, particularly its implications on pharmacy teams who may have to self-isolate resulting in pharmacy closures.

Finally, it asks for confirmation that “all staff in pharmacy teams who want an antibody test will be offered one” quickly enough.
