A school in Wales has been closed following a “flu-like illness” outbreak.
St Martin’s School in Caerphilly, Wales faced closure after 242 students and 12 staff members fell ill and it was closed for deep cleaning by December 9, BBC reports.
Those affected faced vomiting, diarrhea, high temperature, cough, headaches and fatigue like flu.
Students will have online classes until the school reopens.
Lee Jarvis, the school head teacher, claimed the average time to recover from the illness is around a week.
The school has urged parents to seek immediate medical help, even for mild symptoms.
Public Health Wales have said it is in touch with the school authorities and stressed on the importance of taking the flu jab.
