Solgar® is delighted to announce the launch of Solgar®Brain Works with Full Spectrum Curcumin&BacoMind®, a brand-new supplement which carefully brings together a powerful combination of ingredients designed to support mind and memory.

Available from 15 March, each Solgar® Brain Works bottle contains60Licaps® (innovative liquid-filled soft gels) and has an RRP of £39.99 / €42.99.

The one-a-day formulation unites botanicals and contemporary science, with clinically studied Bacopamonnieri extract (Bacomind®), Full Spectrum Curcumin, vitamin B12 and choline. This powerful combination has been specifically chosen for its key health benefits in supporting mind and memory, the nervous system and psychological wellbeing.

The brain controls every function of the body including creativity, emotions, intelligence, and memory, which means brain health is important for every person at every life stage. Indeed, many millennials and individuals in their forties and fifties are looking to manage busy and pressured lifestyles by supporting focus and mental performance. Whilst adults of advancing age are also concerned with supporting brain health. This is supported by the findings of the Euromonitor 2020 Health and Nutrition Survey, which identified that cognition and memory are health concerns wide spread across age cohorts.

As a result, ‘Nootropic’ supplements (those concerned with improving mental performance within healthy people) are becoming increasingly more mainstream as levels of awareness and popularity grow.

Solgar® Brain Works offers consumers an innovative and unique solution, which ensures its ingredients are kept as close to how they are found in nature as possible to deliver maximum benefits. The four key ingredients are:

Solgar® Full Spectrum Curcumin. Curcumin is the principle curcuminoid in turmeric and responsible for many of the health benefits associated with this golden spice. Solgar® Full Spectrum Curcumin uses a unique micellised form of curcumin (NovaSOL®), which significantly increases its bioavailability and absorption rate, compared to other forms of curcumin.

BacoMind®. The patented, clinically tested Bacopamonnieri extract is shown to support memory and cognition in healthy older adults. New science shows great promise in supporting cognition and mental performance with nutrition and botanical extracts. Bacopamonnieri is a well-known Indian botanical, a perennial herb native to India, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Vitamin B12. Methylcobalamin, the body-ready form of vitamin B12, supports clarity of mind. Science shows that when our vitamin B12 levels are adequate cognitive health is supported. Vitamin B12 is essential for the maintenance of the myelin sheath surrounding nerve cells (neurons), to produce neurotransmitters such as GABA, serotonin and dopamine, and, along with folate and vitamin B6 needed for proper homo cysteine metabolism. Vitamin B12 deficiency is considered a risk factor for cognitive impairment, and is also a potential concern for those following a vegan or plant-based diet.

Choline. An essential nutrient readily found in foods but often not consumed in high enough amounts by most people and especially those following plant-based diets. Choline is a crucial component of cell membranes and is needed to make acetylcholine which is an important neurotransmitter for memory and mood and also helps control muscles.
