The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has launched a face-to-face workshop to equip pharmacy technicians to supply or administer medicines under Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
The two-hour workshop, which will be held at various locations throughout England, develops the practical skills needed to apply PGD frameworks, deliver high‑quality consultations and recognise when referral is appropriate.
The highly interactive programme will enable pharmacy technicians to practise real‑world consultations, explore potential challenges and share solutions with peers.
It also supports the development of local networks, helping teams work collaboratively to address health inequalities.
The programme is designed to instil confidence in participants to make safe, informed supply and non-supply decisions, and remove uncertainties that often comes with new clinical responsibilities.
The Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) will also join the workshops to support, connect and engage with pharmacy technicians.
They will offer updates on the profession and provide guidance.
The participants can also book to attend online PGD support sessions to network with peers in a supportive, safe environment.
