NHS England and Improvement have decided to cancel the national antimicrobial stewardship clinical audit for 2019/2020, PSNC informed.

The decision is to ensure that pharmacists are focused on the measures to prevent COVID-19.

The audit will now be undertaken for the first time in 2020-21.

The national clinical audit is part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework. Pharmacists must undertake the audit each year on a topic that has been determined by NHS England and NHS Improvement.
