Valneva said on Wednesday (Aug 5) that the UK was committing an initial investment of more than 10 million pounds to increase production capacity for a possible Covid-19 vaccine, and that it expected negotiations on a full package to be agreed in weeks.

“We are in the detailed work to finalise the agreement,” Valneva CFO David Lawrence told Reuters.

Lawrence confirmed that Valneva planned to supply 60 million doses of an eventual vaccine to the UK in the second half of 2021.
