Ward Green Pharmacy, a standard-hours community pharmacy in Barnsley, Yorkshire, has been sold to Rehan Nawaz of Pharmasurge Partnerships for an undisclosed price, according to Christie & Co.


Located on Vernon Road in Worsbrough, the pharmacy serves a key residential area, dispensing an average of 6,595 items per month.

The former owner, Tom Bisset, who ran the business for 18 years, decided to sell to facilitate his retirement. He wished Nawaz and his team greatest of success.

Nawaz plans to introduce new services at the pharmacy and continue building on its excellent reputation.

Tom Young, Senior Business Agent - Pharmacy at Christie & Co, said the pharmacy had generated a significant amount of interest, with 10 offers within three weeks, with most of these at or above the guide price.

He said the demand for pharmacies remains strong across South Yorkshire and north of England.
