Pharmacy staff at Paydens Group have raised a total of £100,275 for Parkinson’s UK charity.
The independent family-owned pharmacy chain has been working with the charity to support people living with Parkinson’s since 2018.
As part of the partnership, Parkinson’s UK has trained 10 Paydens pharmacists to deliver Parkinson’s-specific medicines use reviews – allowing the group’s pharmacies to serve around 5,000 patients suffering from Parkinson’s, which affects around 148,000 people in the UK.
Staff from the chain’s 128 pharmacies took part in various events – from bake sales to sponsored runs – to raise funds for the charity.
Paydens’ staff also recently took part in a family-friendly workout as part of a London Marathon initiative to support charities in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Payden’s founder Dennis Pay was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2008.
