The Community Pharmacy England (CPE) and its public affairs partner, Luther Pendragon, have made it to the final list of the Public Affairs Awards 2026 for their political influencing activities.
They have been selected for the category of Best In-House Consultancy Collaboration for their joint campaign to increase funding for community pharmacies.
For CPE, political influencing is a key activity, along with detailed financial and economic analysis, and national media work.
“This award shortlisting is a testament to the huge amount of excellent work that has gone into political influencing at Community Pharmacy England over the past few years,” commented Zoe Long, CPE director of Communications, Corporate and Public Affairs.
During the run up to the 2024 General Election, CPE had combined high-level political engagement and evidence-led advocacy, supported by economic analysis and wider research, to influence Labour and all political parties and their manifestos.
Long said building relationships and making the case for community pharmacy well before the General Election, and then continuing that with the new government, led to the £800 million funding uplift that the sector received this year.
