The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) have appointed Niketa Platt from NHS Lothian as their new Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellow.
The Scottish Pharmacy Clinical Leadership Fellowship scheme (SPCLF) aims to support future pharmacy leaders and take forward strategic objectives to improve the pharmaceutical care of patients in Scotland.
Niketa Platt is the lead pharmacist in viral hepatitis at NHS Lothian and has an extensive background within hospital pharmacy across several health boards in Scotland.
She has worked in pharmacy education, supporting learners at all stages.
GPhC director for Scotland Siobhan McGuinness said, “We are looking forward to having Niketa Platt working with us at the GPhC.
“The aim is that Niketa will be working alongside GPhC teams, focusing on differential attainment in pharmacy as her main project.
Niketa sees her new position as an opportunity to gain a different pharmacy perspective and "to collaborate with colleagues on a project in which I can be fully engaged".
"I am looking forward to contributing to the work of the GPhC and building my leadership skills through the fellowship programme."
