Health Education England seeks community pharmacists' views to prepare new CPCS training modules

The Health Education England (HEE) has urged the frontline community pharmacists to share their views on ‘Community Pharmacists Consultation Service'.

The consultation aims to support the development of further training modules that support pharmacists in the provision of NHS community pharmacy services across England.

HEE are working closely with NHS England and NHS Improvement to provide these training opportunities.

Since 2019, the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society have been delivering Pharmacy Integration Programme-funded training to support the provision of the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service or CPSC.

HEE are commissioning the next phase of training for post-registration pharmacists delivering NHS community pharmacy services.

The survey intends to collate as much frontline knowledge as possible to understand pharmacists’ skills and potential gaps in training.

The community pharmacists can take part in the survey which closes on Friday 17 June 2022.

Funding boost in Scotland “needs to work for not just pharmacy owners but pharmacists too”, says PDA

An increase in funding for community pharmacies in Scotland needs to lead to a greater focus on supporting pharmacists rather than “simply sustain business models”, according to the Pharmacy Defence Association (PDA).

Earlier this week, Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) accepted the Scottish government’s initial financial offer for the 2025/26 fiscal year, securing a guaranteed minimum reimbursement of £120 million for community pharmacies — up from £110 million from 2024/25.
