West Midlands-based Jacksons Pharmacy has acquired two community pharmacies in Wolverhampton, owned by Healthplan, for an undisclosed price.
The two pharmacies, Essington Pharmacy and HN Pharmacy, were brought to market to enable the retirement of their promoter Janak Patel.
Jacksons Pharmacy, operated by brothers, Amanjeet Grewal, Indy Grewal, and Harmeet Grewal, run a group of 15 pharmacies across the West Midlands.
The deal was facilitated by Christie & Co and the two pharmacies together dispense an average of 22,000 items per month.
Christie & Co director Carl Steer said, “Indy and his brothers have long since had plans to buy the two pharmacies, so once Janak got in touch to start thinking about a sale, Indy was in mind."
He said Patel had instructed them to undertake an off-market approach to around 10 potential buyers discreetly. "We agreed a sale to Indy within six weeks after a competitive process.”
