The Pharmacists' Defence Association (PDA) Union says it's been inundated with contacts from concerned pharmacists at LloydsPharmacy after the multiple announced its restructuring plans which could include potential redundancies.
The PDA Union said it would issue a formal statement in a bid to secure the best outcome for the affected pharmacists at the pharmacy chain which has yet to recognise an independent trade union.
“PDA Union’s National Executive Committee, the body of pharmacists who govern the union, will now be formally asked to approve the unions’ response to secure the best outcome for Lloyds pharmacists,” the PDA noted.
The current senior management of the pharmacy group has now launched “Project Connect” which is expected lead to significant changes in the employment terms and potential job losses for Lloyds pharmacists and their teams, according to PDA.
Lloyds employees were notified about the project ealier this week and have contacted the associaton in record numbers, calling for the PDA Union to urgently formalise a collective voice for pharmacists at the company.
