Pharmacist Support seeks 2 dedicated trustees to expand impact
The pharmacist charity values diversity and encourages individuals of all backgrounds to apply for trustee positions

In a recent announcement, the independent charity for pharmacy profession, Pharmacist Support, is seeking to recruit 2 new trustees to its board as it embarks on a new five- year strategy.

The new members on the board of trustees will be providing strategic direction and leadership to Pharmacist Support family committed to fostering equality, valuing diversity, and an inclusive environment for all stakeholders.

With a focus on fostering personal and professional growth while supporting the pharmacy community, the charity provides services including financial assistance, addiction support, and more.

Pharmacist Support chief executive Danielle Hunt called the opportunity as an ideal one for "pharmacists who want to support our 'pharmacy family' while developing their personal and professional skills."

Over the years, Pharmacist Support has significantly broadened its outreach and impact, particularly in addressing critical issues like mental health and wellbeing within the profession.

Recently, the pharmacy charity marked a significant milestone by announcing a formal agreement with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society(RPS) to enhance collaboration to better support RPS members and increase the impact of the charity.

The addition of new trustees is expected to further amplify the charity's efforts in growth and development.

"We value 'lived' experience over previous board or trustee roles, as comprehensive training will be provided," emphasises Hunt.

"The time commitment for this role is approximately one day per month, including in-person quarterly board meetings and quarterly online sub-committee meetings, and we offer flexibility to accommodate personal availability."

Pharmacist Support is committed to assembling a diverse and inclusive Board of Trustees, welcoming individuals from varied backgrounds and levels of experience.

Essential qualities include a fervent dedication to the charity's mission and a genuine desire to effect positive change.

Applications close on 7th June 2024, with interviews scheduled for 8th July 2024 in Manchester. Interested candidates to share their CV and cover letters at recruit@pharmacistsupport.org. Visit the website for further information.
