The Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust sets a new record of conducting eighteen successful gall bladder removals in a day.
According to the NHS England LinkedIn post, this was 50 percent higher than the usual, and 12 surgeries were done using surgical robots.
The post quoted surgeon Sandeep, “Using more robotic surgery means less strain on us as a surgical team and more precision for patients.
“The whole team was focused and coordinated - it takes a lot of planning to keep everything running smoothly so each patient can go straight into theatre without delays.”
This helps cut down on waiting times for patients and better treatment outcomes.
