Pharmacy owners can share their thoughts on service developments and their financial security before the upcoming Community Pharmacy England (CPE) committee meeting to be held on June 25 and 26.
The new Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) was completed in March with the various service and regulatory changes still in progress.
The uplift in funding has started to flow through to pharmacies with CPE saying that lots of works has to be done to efficiently overcome the capacity challenges and financial strains that are holding the pharmacy businesses back.
The committee’s discussions are fully shaped by pharmacy owners’ views and experiences, added CPE.
"Their opinions are considered inevitable to help the committee review in analysing the effect of CPCF settlement throughout the sector. It also helps to demonstrate this to ministers and officials."
Pharmacists are asked to share their thoughts on issues such as the introduction of emergency contraception, changes to enable better use of skill mix and new route to rearrange core opening hours.
It is also important to understand the current financial situation and confidence in the government’s commitment to generating sustainable funding and operational model for the sector and the role community pharmacy has to play in the NHS Ten-Year Health Plan.
CPE’s standard pressures tracker will help to continue to analyse trends in the sector over time. It encourages pharmacy owners to reflect on their various pressures on business, such as medicine market instability and rising demand for services to inflation and utility bills. The rankings discovered by the tracker helps in discovering specific issues that cause pressure to the businesses.
The inputs of the pharmacy owners can be shared via a Committee Opinion Poll at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BQNZDSK
The survey will end at 11:59 pm on June 22, Sunday to review the questions prior to the meeting. The survey is only open for community pharmacy owners.
