PSNI seeks public support to nab pharmacy robber who threatened to physically assault staff with hammer

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is probing a robbery case reported at a community pharmacy in Portadown, Co Armagh on April 28.

The police have sought the support of the public to trace and arrest the robber responsible for the incident.

According to police sources, the incident occurred at the pharmacy premises located on Church Street in the Co Armagh town during morning hours.

The PSNI said in a statement: "A man wearing dark clothing, a woollen beanie hat and a black mask was reported to have entered the pharmacy at around 10:45am on Wednesday morning.  Once inside, he took a claw hammer from a black holdall bag and threatened staff members before making off with  a quantity of prescription medication.”

No staff members were injured but have been left badly shaken by the incident.

“The man has left the area on a mountain bike travelling through Church Street, Mandeville Street and on to West Street,” the police sources have confirmed.

The PSNI further urged the public, “anyone with any information about the incident, have any dash cam footage or who may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to contact detectives in Lurgan on 101 quoting reference 518 28/04/21.”
