Key Summary
- Smart screen helps people pick the right support
- Shoppers want clearer advice and feel more confident
- Retailers stepping in as many buy without NHS support
Orthopaedic supports and braces brand Neo G has joined its hands with Boots store at Covent Garden to trial a new digital, interactive in-store fixture that advises shoppers while choosing joint supports.
The digital fixture has an interactive screen that recommends products based on pain location, activity, chronic conditions and recovery goals.
The product was developed after Neo G research showed that 65 percent shoppers want clearer product information and 84 percent are more conscious of musculoskeletal health than five years ago.
On the other hand, more and more people are not depending on NHS while buying these products.
Neo G research shows that 38 percent of support and brace users buy independently without accessing the NHS, and almost half (48 percent) say these products boost their confidence when exercising.
To tap this segment, more retailers are moving towards digital decision tools that helps customers make more informed choices.
Neo G CEO Dan Jones said, “This new fixture brings that support in-store through smart, interactive technology, giving Boots customers instant access to products developed with physiotherapists and expert advice.”
