Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) fellow Dr Raliat Onatade has won the Pharmacist of the Year at the Black Healthcare Awards 2025.

Her experience spans from clinical pharmacy, medicines optimisation and healthcare system transformation.


Currently, she is the chief pharmacist and director of medicines and pharmacy for the North East London Integrated Care System and Barts Health NHS Trust.

She had also served as the chief pharmacist for the North Thames Genomic Medicine Service Alliance between 2021 and 2025.

The Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN) annually honours Black health professionals for their outstanding achievements.

Dr Onatade has won the award for her exceptional performance in care, research and leadership in the health sector.

She is a powerful advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion in healthcare leadership.

She is also devoted in the mentoring of future pharmacy professionals.

Dr Onatade said, “This award inspires me to continue to advocate for, and support, innovative pharmacy practice in order to improve the health and care of patients and the public.”
