Sarah Pochin MP recently visited Numark’s head office and distribution facilities in her constituency of Runcorn and discussed issues affecting pharmacy sector with the leadership team.
She toured the Runcorn depot, gaining first-hand insight into the scale and complexity required for national pharmaceutical distribution.
She also visited Medipac, Numark’s in-house manufacturing and packing operation, to observe how essential medicines and healthcare products are processed before being sent to community pharmacies across the UK.
The MP held discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, including the role of pharmaceutical wholesalers, the pressures on the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework, and the impact of Category M reimbursement on pharmacy businesses.
Welcoming the MP, Numark chairman Harry McQuillan emphasised the importance of constructive dialogue between policymakers and the pharmacy sector to ensure patients continue to receive accessible, high-quality care.
