Health and beauty retailer Superdrug has launched new online Insomnia Service to help adults with troubled sleep.

Insomnia is a common sleep disorder that can be categorised as short-term (less than three months) or long-term or chronic insomnia (more than three months).

The new service provides people with fast and convenient access to expert guidance through online consultation and prescription treatment reviewed by a clinician.

This service provides treatments such as Quviviq (daridorexant) and melatonin, alongside guidance on improving sleep hygiene and managing long-term sleep issues.

The medicines prescribed during the service will be delivered to the patients’ homes.

This new move by Superdrug aims to fulfill the growing demand for accessible digital healthcare services, with personalised online insomnia pathways alternative to direct GP appointments.

“Insomnia can have a significant impact on both physical and mental wellbeing, affecting everything from concentration and mood to long-term health,” said Dr Babak Ashrafi from Superdrug Online Doctor.

He added, “This service gives patients a simple, discreet way to access clinically appropriate treatment and expert support, helping them take control of their sleep.”
